How to study with these tests
- Learn the vocabulary first. Start with insurance basics and the flashcards; most wrong answers on licensing exams come from confusing two similar terms.
- Drill the big forms. Homeowners, personal auto and commercial property make up a large share of every all-lines exam.
- Do not skip state law. If your exam has a state section, it is usually where unprepared candidates lose the most points.
- Read every explanation, including on questions you got right. The explanation tells you why the tempting wrong answer is wrong.
- Finish with timed exams. Take two or three full-length practice exams and schedule the real one once you are above 80%.
Frequently asked questions
Are these real insurance adjuster exam questions?
No. Actual exam questions are confidential and copyrighted by the testing vendors, and sites that claim to sell them are usually reselling memorized or invented items. Every CoveragePrep question is original, written from the policy forms, statutes, FEMA documents and official content outlines that the real exams are built on.
How many questions are on an adjuster license exam?
It depends on the state. Most all-lines and property and casualty adjuster exams have between 50 and 150 scored questions with a time limit of one to two and a half hours, and most require a scaled score of 70 to pass. Each state guide on this site lists the official format for that state.
Which practice test should I start with?
If you are taking the Texas or Florida exam, start on that exam page: state law is the section most candidates underestimate. Otherwise begin with insurance basics and homeowners, the two most heavily tested topics, then take a timed exam to find your weak areas.
What score should I get on practice tests before scheduling the exam?
Aim for 80% or better on two or three different timed practice exams. That margin covers test-day nerves and the questions on the real exam that are worded differently from anything you studied.
Do I need to register or pay?
No. All practice tests, timed exams, flashcards and guides are free and need no account. Your progress is stored only in your own browser.
